Çok partili dönemdeki seçimlere ilişkin boşluğun doldurulabilmesi açısından, 1946 ile 1991 yılları arasında yapılan 12 milletvekili genel seçimine ilişkin çalışmaların da yapılması ve kitap halinde yayımlanması gerekmektedir.

Elinizdeki kitap, çok partili seçimlerin ilki ve çok partili siyasal yaşamımızda önemli bir kilometre taşı olan 1946 seçimlerini konu almaktadır.

Bu seçimler, kitapta çeşitli boyutlarıyla ele alınmıştır. Sadece seçimlere ilişkin çalışmalarla yetinilmemiş, dönemin koşullarını yansıtabilmek amacıyla, seçim öncesinde ve seçim sonrasındaki siyasal gelişmeler de ele alınmıştır.

1946 seçimlerinin sayısal sonuçları yayımlanmadığı için, ne yazık ki, bu seçimlere ilişkin sayısal analizler yapılamamıştır.
